Devour! The Food Film Fest 2024

Our Day at Devour! with Chefs Julian Bond & Robert Clark: West Coast Flavors Meet Nova Scotia

At Devour! The Food Film Fest, we had the privilege of partnering with Bosch Home Appliances,  helping to sponsor a truly unforgettable culinary workshop. Led by the incredible Chefs, Julian Bond and Robert Clark, and focused on food, culture, and community, the workshop brought the themes together in a way that was both inspiring and impactful. Here’s a peek at the experience!

A Taste of the Pacific: Wild Sockeye Salmon, Gitanyow Nation’s Gift

The chefs introduced us to the renowned Wild Sockeye Salmon from the Gitanyow Nation. To be fair, this wasn’t just a cooking demo; it was a journey. Julian and Robert emphasized the importance of respecting and sustainably sourcing this extraordinary fish, all while treating us to samples that showcased its incredible flavours.

Sustainability & Food Sovereignty: A Recipe for the Future

As co-founders of Aramé, Julian and Robert are on a mission to drive sustainable food practices and food sovereignty. Their knowledge of eco-conscious cooking and commitment to a sustainable Canada resonated deeply, especially as they highlighted the connection between food security and community well-being. Supporting events that spread this message is something we’re thrilled to be a part of at Payzant.

Dynamic Duo: Wit, Expertise, and a Whole Lot of Flavour

Beyond their culinary skills, Julian and Robert kept us entertained with their signature banter and impressive kitchen knowledge. Their energy made learning about sustainable food practices engaging and fun, transforming the session into a true culinary experience.

Proudly Supporting Devour!

As sponsors, we were excited to be part of an event that brought foodies together, celebrating the best in culinary arts. With generous contributions from Off the Table, J.R. Mahoney Ltd., and Chef Works, the day was packed with flavor, purpose, and connection.

We left feeling inspired by the event’s dedication to sustainable food practices—and proud to play a part in making it happen. Here’s to more community connections, great food, and positive change in the years to come.
