The best aging-in-place home modifications align with “universal design”, an architectural term for features that are easy for all to use and adaptable as needs dictate. Aging -in Place is geared to the older adult and physically challenged sectors. It means to make modification changes to the place you call home, removing potential hazards and making it more accessible, so you can continue living in it independently. Examples include anything from installing a shower bench/chair to an entire ground-floor master suite, to walk-in showers, stairlifts, and outside ramps to accommodate walkers, rollators, and wheelchairs. At Home Hardware Building Centers, we work with Harding Medical to prepare a home assessment and assist with all your assistive device needs including funding resources to new home care technology.Contact our Installation team to learn more!
